Dimmi Dimmi | Restaurant Brand Identity

Branding with a side of pasta and gossip.

Cornerstone Restaurant Group of Chicago brought in HiFi Brands to develop the name, brand identity, and overall concept for a new neighborhood red sauce Italian restaurant in the heart of Lincoln Park. The building itself already carried decades of story, having started as an Italian market and later serving as an Italian restaurant for more than 30 years. With both the neighborhood and the space steeped in Italian-American heritage, the concept needed to feel authentic to the community, familiar and warm, and naturally woven into the fabric of the area from day one.

The name became the starting point. Dimmi Dimmi, or “tell me, tell me” in Italian, is the kind of phrase you hear on a Sunday when grandmothers coax family gossip while stirring the sauce. That spirit shaped the heart of the brand. We imagined the restaurant as the home of a slightly eccentric, well-traveled nonna who collected stories, cooked with love, and filled her space with character.

From that idea, the experience unfolded into a place that feels comfortable and lived in, equally suited for a quiet Tuesday dinner or a lively Saturday night crowd. A true neighborhood hangout with history in its bones and an easy charm that feels right at home in Lincoln Park.

“Working with HiFi Brands and bringing our vision to life together collaboratively was the best design and brand development experience I’ve had.”

— Josh Zadikoff, President Cornerstone Restaurant Group

“HiFi suggested the name Dimmi Dimmi, which in Italian translates to “tell me, tell me.” Picture a group of girlfriends out for dinner and cocktails, sharing gossip and having a great time.”

A woman wearing a wide-brimmed hat, a white dress, and a patterned scarf tucked into her dress, stands outdoors on a walkway with a decorative metal archway in the background, smoking a cigarette.
Four adults, three women and one man, sitting around a round table with beer bottles and snacks, enjoying a get-together in a vintage setting.
A young boy with brown hair and light skin sitting at a table with a birthday cake, decorated with pink and green frosting and writing, and a small bowl and cup nearby. An adult, wearing a pink patterned dress, is standing behind him with one hand resting on a wooden chair.
Three women in a vintage kitchen preparing and serving food.
A woman in a black dress at a dinner table is blowing out a lit candle that is shaped like a tall, thin candle on a table with food and drinks.

A mix of found and flash, our imagery is nostalgic, cheeky, and effortlessly cool. Every shot feels like a memory in motion—comfortable, imperfect, and perfectly timed.

“Dimmi Dimmi is all about great food shared with great people, made from scratch and from the heart.”

— Matt Eckfeld, Executive Chef, Dimmi Dimmi
